Driving
Instructions from Cancun
Take the main
Highway 307 south out of
Cancun. The highway
passes through Playa del
Carmen. It is recommended
that you do all your
grocery and refreshment
shopping here as there
are a number of large
supermarkets including a
Walmart and Sams
Club.
After you shop and stock
up with the essentials
for your stay continue on
Highway 307 going through
Tulum and on to Filipe
Carrillo Puerto. There
are two PeMex gas
stations in Filipe
Carrillo Puerto and we
recommend that you stop
at the first one you see
as it is less crowded and
has easy access from the
highway. You will pass
through the center of
town and continue on
Highway 307 through the
small town of Limones.
Some 4 kms past Limones
turn left to Mahahual at
the Cafetal Junction. It
is well marked.
Continue on this two lane
paved road about 50 kms
and you will see a PeMex
gas station just after
which you take the first
road left which leads to
Tampalam, Uvero and
Placer. (NOTE: If you get
all the way to a
lighthouse, you've missed
the turn off.) Follow
this road about 24 kms
north until you see a
sign to Placer (This
right turn appears quite
quickly so slow down a
bit to make sure you
don't miss it). Turn
right and go until the
road ends at a T -
intersection (Approx. 4
kms) and turn right again
to be headed south and
follow the beach road
about 3.2 kms further and
Castillo
de Sueños
will appear on your left.

Please
contact us with any
questions you may have.
We are here to help and
want you to have the best
vacation in Costa
Maya. We can
provide you with
information about the
area, things to do and
places to visit. We would
love to hear from you.
This part of Mexico
offers you a wide range
of places to visit
and activities while you
are here. There are many
wonderful Mayan ruins
sites close by to visit
like Chacchoben,
Dzibanche and Kohunlich
to name a few. There is
also the amazing Lake
Bacalar with its seven
colours of blue.
You might like to try
deep sea or saltwater fly
fishing or go scuba
diving as there are
plenty of places here.
Our most popular
local diving site is
"Banco
Chinchorro" which is
an atoll with many
shipwrecks.
Or you can just
"Chill Out" and
relax on your own slice
of Paradise at Castillo
de Sueños ... and watch
the ships go by ... or go
for walks along the beach
looking for washed up
shells and coral.

Nearby back in Mahahual
there is the cruise ship
port of Puerto Maya that
brings in tourists to the
area once or twice a week
depending on the time of
year. Because of this the
town is growing and as
more people get to know
this still fairly virgin
area it will develop in
the near future and
become a resort area like
Playa del Carmen. So come
now and enjoy this
paradise in its splendor
before it changes.
